James H. Cantrell, CPM®

James H. Cantrell, CPM®, is the President of Cantrell, Harris & Associates, a real estate consulting company based in San Francisco, California. Cantrell, Harris & Associates provides consulting and hands-on management of all types of real estate assets for institutional, and private investors throughout Northern California. He currently manages an excess of $300 million worth of real estate.

Over the past twenty-five years, Mr. Cantrell has established himself as an expert in the turnaround of distressed portfolios. Previously, he was an Executive Vice President of a limited partnership firm, and President of its Property Management Division.

Mr. Cantrel has served as Chair of Education and served as Vice President and President of IREM’s San Francisco Bay Area Chapter No.21. He was Certified Property Manager® of the Year in 1987, and has won the Franklin Lyons Award.

Nationally, Mr. Cantrell has served as Regional Vice President, IREM’s Vice Chair and Chair of the Advanced Membership Standards Committee and of the International Affairs Committee, and Governing Councilor. He taught Successful Site Management and Ethics in Real Estate Management courses. In 1984 he was a contributing author to the Property Management Handbook - A Practical Guide.

Additionally, Mr. Cantrell has served on the California Association of Condominium Managers, the Professional Property Management Association, and has been a faculty member of Golden Gate University.
